1.) The White House is looking for ways to ease the potential economic impact should President Donald Trump closes down the U.S.- Mexico border. A shutdown could lead to billions of dollars in lost trade and higher prices for imported fruits and vegetables, automotive parts and other products.

2.) Federal prosecutors have charged a Chinese woman with making false statements to a federal officer and entering a restricted area after she illegally entered President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Yujing Zhang had four cellphones, two Chinese passports, a laptop and a thumb drive infected with malware when she was arrested last weekend.

3.) The Agricultural Department will no longer use kittens in taxpayer-funded research. The bipartisan legislation will end a practice that began in 1982. USDA employees will be allowed to adopt the surviving kittens.
